Corrupted Scene?

Postby FRA32 » Sun Dec 20, 2015 1:25 pm

I was working with the drone's made by DugRel and was just saving my scene so I can upload the updated version, but now it seems the saved file is somewhat corrupted and crashes algodoo everytime I try to open it. Does anyone know how this can happen and if there's a way to fix this? All I can say is that, before saving, I added some scripts for the drone AI and replaced some Scene.my.var data transmissions with springs connecting the communicating parts. When I saved it, it even worked, but upon reopening the saved file, algodoo crashes...

With that amount of code inside objects... it's very hard to find anything.
If you remember what you have change - just unpack .phn from .phz and try to find/change it back.

btw code is weird sometimes:
Code: Select all
    update := (e)=>{
        scene.my.redbase = e.this.geomid
    };

Why do it EVERY FRAME ? :wtf:

Nope, the .phn file is just as broken as the .phz one.

Sure it is, but now you could edit scrips in it and roll back.

Okay, I've got access to the data now. Now it will take a while before I can spot the at least 8 places where the errow occurs

I have a crazy idea, so crazy, that it might...just...work...

*copys full scene code into algodoo console*
*waits for short lag to stop*
*executes code*
*poof*

Oh lol, I just resurrected my full scene from the grave? It actually worked

Yeah, the actual phz/phn file is containing something broken, but when copying its content into the console and executing it like normal thyme code, it instantly changes all values and spawns all objects without any error. The scene if fixed thanks to this.
