Belt fed machine gun (gas operated, no motors!)
enter to fire
to all those nay-sayers disputing the usefulness of the gas operating mechanism, I give you the first belt fed machine gun that is in no way reliant on motors or artificial forces of any kind.
this runs only on the power stored in the previous round to re chamber the gun.
Enter to fire, or you can pull the trigger.
P.S. i pirated and HEAVILY modified some parts from a scene by paradigm29.
I figured that what i did make would prove that i was capable of making everything myself.

thanks.
Unfortunately, at least on phunbox, it seems to have gotten buried rather quickly.
Oh well, that's what the forums are for.

Re: Belt fed machine gun (gas operated, no motors!)
I don't even pretend to follow Algobox, it's just ridiculous. The fact that there are two entirely different communities going on here between the forum and the scene sharing utility is just ridiculous to me. Everything started here on the forums, and I've stayed here. The best scenes get released here anyways.
I'll test it when I get back to my Mac (it has Algodoo).
I would like you to know that I have been working on this sort of thing myself for a long time in the form of a Glock23 handgun. The only thing I need to get right is the final mechanism and the tweaking.

thats good, but i think that the glock series is one of the few pistols that are actually recoil operated!

Re: Belt fed machine gun (gas operated, no motors!)
Well, the glock (23 I think) that I am using as an example is completely recoil operated. The most difficult part has been getting the floating barrel to work right. (It slides back and forward and up and down during reloading)

Very nice. Needs longer mag, though.
Been here since ~Phun 4.22, but post very infrequently.

there is no mag
also that would lead to lag
the scene is already run at half speed as it is

Does this gun work in Phun, or is it like all the other coolest things in the phun world and it needs Algodoo?

Why don't you try instead of asking?

it probably wont work in phun, but you can try it
all you have to do is set your sim speed to 1000 hertz, which i dont know how to do in phun
even then tough, it probably wont work

I don't try it instead of asking, because I have 3 siblings that also like to use the computer, so I have a limited time to play on it.

Waiting for a reply can take hours, while trying it can take only a few seconds.

Its not gas operated, its bullet impeded blow back....
Sorry. But it still works deleting the gears and just adding a spring! Oh no!

I still doubt anyone cares.

Re: Belt fed machine gun (gas operated, no motors!)
The title is misleading.
Gas-operated gave me the thought that there would be fake gas to act it.
It is still great though.

Its the closest i could get to simulated gas without incredible lag.

Re: Belt fed machine gun (gas operated, no motors!)
That's why there's a Yellow border.
It means this scene was made in Algodoo.
Algodoo is different to Phun so some times Algodoo scenes won't work in Phun.

I know, that's why I usually don't try the yellow outlined scenes. But, this being a gas powered gun and all, I wanted to see how it worked.

I suggest an IMI Desert Eagle chambered in .50 AE.... One of the only pistols that is gas operated.
