Accurate guided ballistic missile
Few meters of accuracy at 1 km, maximum range about 5km.
Has limited amout of fuel, Mass of fuel decreases over time like it's burned.

Doesn't work for me. Engine fires for about 1/2 second and then the fuel tank self destructs and the rocket stops.

that's what also happens to me. and i don't know why.... but if i delete the fast rotating circle at the bottom of the tank it doesn't self destruct.

Re: Accurate guided ballistic missile
That only works about 1/10 of the time for me...and then the rocket isn't guided any more, since that's its steering. Waiting for help from davidz40...

I cannon recreate that bug since it works 100% time for me
Can anyone say what position, speed and dist indicator say when fuel is deleted? How the mass of fuel box is changing? Does setting it to immortal change anything?

Re: Accurate guided ballistic missile
I think that it's fault of impact point calculator - the value becomes way too big by some random measuring error. I'll try to force rocket to shut down only when:
1-it's high in the air
2-projected distance is bigger than target dist, but not too big.
Maybe when two consecutive readings say that it's time to shut down.
EDIT
Beta version. Needs two readings - I hope that will solve the problem.

Actually, must have been something in my config, though what I have no idea. I reset algodoo and it works...sorta. The guidance mechanism doesn't really seem to function very well—the rocket basically goes straight up and a little to the right, cuts the engine and falls back down. I was kinda expecting it to rotate and gain some real horizontal speed.

Re: Accurate guided ballistic missile
It seems that rocket ran out of fuel before reaching enough horizontal speed - it's not fault of guidance.
I really can't understand what's wrong with those. The rocket should go about 30 degrees to the right. I think that something is really wrong with rotating circle used to rotate the rocket.
I'm going to make new version with totally different propulsion that proved to work in my previous scenes.

Edited the V2 missile. New, arleady - tested engine. If still doesn't work, i'll eat my hat

maybe that's the same for my GTE project-.-
still, nice design overall!

Re: Accurate guided ballistic missile
Updated arleady-working v2 beta, so it should work
Uses assymetrical mass distribution rather than any device to lean right
Stabilised by air friction
Engine makes small burns duting descent to counter air friction and keep rocket on computed falling parabola.
