People seem to be needing to measure speed all the time 
This is a quick Phunlet i made to fix things.

No, i did search for it, and i do know there are others, (your k-probe laser edition being my fav), but people complain they are too complicated?!

It doesn't work

Note that when you start the scene, it instantaneously undoes that and then declares the variables.

No, that wasn't the problem, I had forgot the textureMatrix placeholders. I updated my scene, it now should work.

I added textureMatrix placeholders and did the undo/declare variables thing. For your first one, I had to declare scene.my.speed and scene.my.vel myself.

You shouldn't need the undo/declare variables?
I did, it's just everything works differently on other computers.

It won't declare variables until you start the scene, then when you undo, the variables vanish. So, my version undoes first automatically and instantaneously, then declares the variables.
