Centrifugal Catapults

Postby LLamaman » Thu Aug 12, 2010 2:28 am

A few centrifugal catapults I've made recently, Each one powered in a different way,

Basically, a centrifugal catapult is a catapult that spins the arm once or more before releasing the projectile.

Here's the first one, It is extremely unreliable, only getting a shot every 5 or so times you fire it. However, It can get shots of around 1450 meters.

The second one is a lot more reliable, but it can still screw up now and then, It has much less distance though, and can only reach 450 meters

The third one is the most reliable, and can get shots up to 1200

Press F to Fire each one

Because they are all made in 1.6.0, the springs on some catapults may need to be altered,
Each catapult should launch it's projectile at a 40-50 degree angle.

There also lonely, because there the only ones on algobox.

Good!
I really like the friction fall and the ridicapult.
And I've modified the friction fall to a better one!
It uses higher friction, a heavier contraweigth, and the ball is lighter and doesn't have airfriction.
I reached more then 2 km!

PS: It uses a tracking system that follows the ball only on the X axis, to remove this, just delete the laser in the ball.

It's cool, and I really like the tracking system, but it's made in the beta, which means won't work with people who don't have it,

I would also recommend setting a laser with no collision downward, to point to where it is.

Also, collisions and are much better in the beta, so it the ball would most likely skip past the killer, or get sent at a wrong angle,
