Algobox Chaos
Clearly someone is not keeping a good eye on the content posted on Algobox at the moment, especially by this user.
Uploading pointless scenes, swearing and abusing other users. Naturally, the ones being abused are fighting back and it is leading to online battles in the comments section of some user's scenes. Chaos.
Could we get an admin involved here please...

I just can't believe they haven't acted on it yet. I've just sat here watching it unfold, occasionally laughing.

Re: Algobox Chaos
Its all quite recent stuff. Also i just realised that algodoo box if filled with 8 year olds who will upload any old junk.
Surely algodoo and forums should have at least an age restriction of 13?

Hmm .. no way to police age restriction anyway, even 3 year olds can say they're 18.

Re: Algobox Chaos
THIS DESRVERSEs A SEPERATE POST, not really i just want a higher post count tbh.
the situation has gotten quite out of hand, http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details.php?id=57433
And just look at the homepage, users are starting to retalate and this problem seriously need sorting out considering that algobox can be accessed from within algodoo, it posses a threat to if the software is being used in education to children using it etc.
Edit; It appears as I have spoken the mods have done there job.

Re: Algobox Chaos
Nope, more crap returned when the mods were offline.
I honestly don't know what the solution is... Do we:
Add more mods? <--May be a little frightening, giving more people more power...
Rebuild the entire algobox? <-- We are missing Link
Add more filtering AKA foul language filter? <-- can be awkward as evidenced by the old Phun forums and the word 'analogue'
Perma-ban? =)

Re: Algobox Chaos
Its obviously difficult to do much other than to add more mods. Maybe even a tier below mods that can do all the mod stuff and it sticks untill a real mod confirms the desisions.

Just perma-IP ban him. Algobox will be a better place.
But yeah, Algobox needs more mods.

Re: Algobox Chaos
I would love to be an Algobox mod, at least I would be prepared to remove this material as soon as it comes up.

hurray
Basically, there are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who know binary, and those who don't.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until they open their mouths.

Re: Algobox Chaos
I'll be honest, I don't see how that guy is violating the ToS. For all we know, he could pretty much just be a beginner. There's no rule stating that only good scenes can be uploaded. Algobox is not a place for elitism.

Re: Algobox Chaos
Well, he isn't swearing or copying scenes and his scenes seem quite clean and tidy, i have spotted a lot worse than that.

Upload limit could solve some of the problems, like uploading all the scenes made in a week and flood the front page

NO!
this has been suggested before... and one was by me...
Although it may sound good in theory, in practical, it will only cause problems...
Chronos wrote:But yeah, Algobox needs more mods.
The only "active" mods on algobox are:
- Kilinich (dont think he visits regularly)
- Tatt (he mainly focuses on the japanese scenes)
We could do with someone who we know will be active on there...
my suggestions:
- dare (im sure he visits there alot, and seams REALLY sensible )
- TC42 (as from what i know, he is active there, and someone who i feel would be good )
and im sure theres someone else, i just cant remember who
ps, they are just suggestions

I would love to be a mod, I visit algobox at least once a day but remain inactive. Dare and TC42 would also make good mods, hey why not vastly increase security and use us all haha.

Re: Algobox Chaos
I've checked Algobox every day for over 2 years without fail, making an exception to holidays and such. It only takes 30 seconds to browse the new scenes uploaded for the day, so it's quite a simple task. I think more mods definitely are needed on Algobox.
