Shape Tool

Postby Sonic » Mon Oct 19, 2009 5:20 pm

How about a tool that you can use to quickly create any regular polygon? You select the number of sides from a menu then you click and create it.
I do stuff and break things. You know how it is.

cool!
the rectangle tool should have a menu to select how much vertices it should have. like the menu for the gears tool where you can select size etc.
it would be great because then you easily could make triangles, pentagons, hexagons, ...

i support this idea

[EDIT]
Until then this thing can do the work

This has pretty much already been suggested in the form of an equilateral triangle tool, but it was also shot down due to the ease of use of the snap to grid function.

but also with snap to grid you can't create regular polygons without calculations or knowing the exact points to aim for.
with snap to grid normally it's not a regular polygon because all lines that aren't horizontal or vertical are longer.

Change the number of axes in the options menu. Although, admittedly, it can get challenging with shapes with a relatively high prime number of vertices.

Exactly. What if you want to make a 26 sided polygon?

It's not that bad of a suggestion >_>

Tough luck. I wouldn't be able to use the mouse very well if I had carpal tunnel syndrome, so I should have everything speech activated.
