Algodoo for iPad

Postby royalblue » Thu Jan 28, 2010 1:13 am

With the new apple iPad just released, it would be the perfect device for a portable version of algodoo. It has a 1ghz processor so it would be able to handle most functions

It's not getting put on an iPod Touch, it's not getting put on an iPhone, it's not getting put on a DS, it's not getting put on a PSP, it's not getting put on a website, it's not getting put on a PS3, it's not getting put on a 360, it's not getting put on a Wii, it's not getting put on a cell phone, and it's not getting put on an iPad.

When will people get it through their thick skulls? -.-

1 GHZ processor plus made by apple = too slow to run algodoo at decent grames

Actually you could run algodoo on the iPad. The processing power doesn't tell you how fast it is because at work I have a mac G4 that is 10 years old and has only 1GHZ and it is nearly as fast as my iMac at home which is 2.66GHz Core Duo.

However, the iPad version would have to be written differently because I don't know if C++ will be on the iPad yet?

It would need to be written with the iPhone SDK or the iPad SDK and I don't know if anyone has made a shell for C++ to iPhone yet.

I know you can write apps with C++ for the iPhone but it might not be as good as Obj-C on the iPad. I know Obj-C so when I make iPhone apps for my self, I don't have to worry about the language.

Even if it was an easy enough idea the iPad isn't going to last.

No that's just geeks who have nothing better to do than review a product they haven't even touched.

I've found out that you can make iPhone apps on windows now with the DragonFireSDK so that means you could make algodoo for the iPad.
As many of you might know they processor isn't an ARM or Intel chip, it is an Apple A4 which probably means that you would have to programme algodoo differently.

I know, but I don't think Algoryx would make users jailbreak their device. Plus, the iPad still won't be able to handle Algodoo well enough.

Basically, there are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who know binary, and those who don't.
