They could convert the object into a polygon if necessary, and the laser would 'push' the point on the surface it hits away from it.

again, whats the point? it just makes a hole thats probably too small to fit anything in, and if its big, itll lag like crazy :|

The pushed area would be a direct result of the laser size, so a bigger laser would make a bigger hole.

Okay.. did anyone ever think about this... WHAT if you frigging DRAG that slow cut laser over an object.. it would mean the laser would have to slowly vaporise the object.. causing HUGE ammounts of lagg as Algodoo calculates the melting rate- direction-etc? Its not such an great idea. even if it would be kind of cool.

Normal lasers don't cut like that when they're dragged. The same would go for melting lasers.

If it cuts while still. it WILL cut while moving.

I mean that lasers only cut an object once for each time they hit it. See http://www.algodoo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=203

yes but think about this.. the slow laser cut would be slowly cutting.. but the object being cut would move by an increment of X to some direction..
