snapping

Postby Silent Bender » Fri Apr 25, 2014 3:54 am

I get sooooooooo tired of not knowing if 'snap-to-grid' is on or not, then having to dig around for its switch to change it.

It would be soooooo much better if the check-mark box for snapping to the grid was visible ALL the time, it would only take 1 click
to turn it on and off.

And then we would see at a glance if it was on or off which would let us use the ALT-key or not as we needed.

Also, and I'm kind of surprised this hasn't already been suggested: The ALT-key should be a toggle-switch!

By that, I mean this;

{this is how it works now} If 'snap-to-grid' is ON, then the Alt-key allows unsnapped-clicking [okay so far]
[now think about this] If 'snap-to-grid' is OFF, then the Alt-key SHOULD force snapping to the grid [the best of both!]

Actually the easiest way is forgetting that the snap to grid option exists. Just turn on and ff the grid, and that's enough

Holding "alt" while dragging/grawing you disable snap to grid.
