Re: Aerodynamics in Algodoo!
I have an idea for a cool tool. The blow tool.
You drag a line from one point to another, then the wind will start blow from the first point to the second point. The longer the line the stronger the wind blows.

Then you can make a windmachine!
Make a gear (or two) and let them blow wind trough a pipe. This can be used again to blow away leaves or something.

Re: Aerodynamics in Algodoo!
I'm trying to design a wind machine right now but it is pretty hard.
Hopefully I can get it too work by tonight.
P.S. I've got a prototype working but I get weird phenomias like clutter formations and random spitting. Will upload the prototype later.

Haha, for you it's tonight, for me it's now 2:30 pm. I tough already, "Tonight, is it that much work!?!"

FOr me it's actually 2pm right now but what I meant is by tonight I should have it done without those phenomias

I''m really happy of how much people like this and respond. But remember this method wouldn't aloud fluid simulation, (wind or air flow) because this is really cpu intensive and mostly impossible in this software. Only the behaviour of each individual objects moving through air would be simulated without taking into account air flow.

If the movement of all airparticles would be calculated, it would lag. But if Algodoo only calculates the particles that are moving faster then let's say 5 km/h (~3.5 mph), and all the particles that are further then ~5m from a geomitry (NO PLANES!) are just ingored. Algodoo would have much less lag.

Then you would not be able to have wind, windmill and other stuff so why trying to simulate the real flow if the flow isn't usable because it is confined ? The second problem is that particles aren't a fluid and don't behave like so. So I still believe the bests solution up to now would be the one talked in this topic.
Also, Is there anybody good enough in mathematics to simplify my excel spreadsheet to an equation or at least fewer equation than I actually use a the moment?

Support fully. Have you ever noticed how many planes there are in Algobox? We need this

I said it before and I'll say it again. We got +inf space in Algodoo both horizontal and vertical. Is it right that we can only use one to the fullest?

Not really infinite, probably less then the surface area of the earth. As you probably know of the twilight zone the further you get away from the center the more the physics begin to break down. after a certain point it gets too much.

The laws of physics stops working the further you get but you still have +inf space

Re: Aerodynamics in Algodoo!
Really doesn't after a certain length the physics will break down entirely

Re: Aerodynamics in Algodoo!
i think that if you got too far out the pos would be too big for algodoo's system would not be able to work with the value which would either delete to object or crash algodoo
according to scene file using a circle
pos := [-4.186483, -3.8519283e+008] a few seconds before it his that at speed vel := [0.0, -12741629.0] cloud has disappeared
fps averaging 30
at about 25483258m all clouds are shown in straight lines <may be 20% accurate>
game graphics like the protractor when creating planes are broken
planes dont reach the bottom of the screen.

Re: Aerodynamics in Algodoo!
This is very interesting, as I have seen your post from the old forums, and found that it continued here, this is what I have been looking for. A simulation like this but with aerodynamics.
I hope that this thread is still alive so that someday we might be able to have it in algodoo.

It's going down but I don't think people will get mad at you for bumping this topic as almost everyone supports it,

Sorry, I am new to these forums, but what does it mean to bump?
