does anyone think it would be a good idea to be able to set your own shortcuts

I guess you mean "shortcuts" as "shortcut-keys" (hot-key).
You can set short-cut key by using Keys.bind function or Tool.(toolname).hotkey.
What kind of shortcut-key do you want to set?

there is a few that i would set, but i just thought it could make things easier to make in algodoo
