Algodoo EasyThyme edition

Postby Kutis 96 » Mon Aug 02, 2010 9:48 am

My idea is to make new, better thymer interface, like click and drag things.
It will be switchable off and it will be compatible with other versions that doesn't contain it.
It will enable people to do a thyme on SmartBoards or on tablets or tablet notebooks.

There will be down-panel on that will be seen boxes with usable functions.

Thyme menus will have more space, such like this comment box, and you will drag there boxes from the bottom bar.

Example:

If you'll drag there Scene. box, the down panel will change to my., addBox(, addCircle( etc.

If you'll drag there addBox(, the down bar will contain pos:=, color:=, radius:= etc.

If you'll drag the pos:=, there will appear a small window in Algodoo with textbar for numbers and a small numeric keyboard with OK and Cancel button for easy use on touch boards.

If there will be more parameters, on the end of bar will appear ) to end the function.
I'm back! (not really!)

I'm also making real hardware, sometimes.

This is already suggested, but it isn't made yet.

I don't support. Thyme isn't what Algodoo is about. It should be a challenge to learn so it isn't even more overused than it already is.

I'm with chronos on this one. Don't support. Learn thyme like we had to.

Hmm... People will experiment by dragging it and they will learn thyme alot faster...

Again, Thyme isn't what Algodoo is about. If they wanna learn it, they either learn it the hard way or they don't learn it at all.

Hmm...

But algodoo's physics could be improved by thyming, Chronos.

Without thyme you will not be able to create spawner engines, spawner rockets, better soda machines, printers, scanners...

For example: Kilinich will not create his awesome things with very good thyme like K-Wing, DHS, engines, K-Probe, his races with cars...

No PCP will be there without thyme too!

So be quiet, Chronos!!!

No, they can't. Spawning isn't physics.

Kutis 96 wrote:Without thyme you will not be able to create spawner engines, spawner rockets, better soda machines, printers, scanners...

None of that is physics. Unless, of course, you have proof that you can magically create objects from nothing, in real life, just by touching them.

Kutis 96 wrote:For example: Kilinich will not create his awesome things with very good thyme like K-Wing, DHS, engines, K-Probe, his races with cars...

We don't need those for physics.

Kutis 96 wrote:No PCP will be there without thyme too!

I see no problem with that.

Wings are. Thymed wings aren't

I never said that, I said I would be fine with it never happening.

Seriously, don't try to argue with me, Kutis, you won't win.

So just because we can't make it, we don't have the right to criticize it? That would make a lot of critics go out of business.

Anyway, I support having having some kind of visual scripting, as it makes it easier for kids to understand how code works(transition from visual to manual coding). But, suggested before: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2057&p=25055&hilit=thyme+gui#p25055

I think that it couldn't get anymore simple. You have several variables finished(i.e sim.time), maths can be easaly calculated and giving Algodoo commands of an event. Couldn't get anymore simple ;D

I think it's good as it is as you can make scripted sequences, programs, and alot more. BUT, it does NOT improve physics. :lolno:
