Animated .pngs Sequences For "Characters"

It looks like a lot of people are wanting to use Algodoo for many more things other than education. Games, for one. And creative simulation "experiences". This, to me, means having characters enter the Algodoo environment.

Now, I know a mechanical character can already be created with the tools that exist, but that's precisely the problem - this sort of character will always "look" like something mechanical. Especially for the creation of games, engaging, non-mechanical characters need to exist in an Algodoo world.

So, allowing for the importation of a series of .png sequences would fit the bill nicely. If these sequences of images automatically cycled, this would be better - and better still would be some kind of user control for animations.

There is a way to do this, although few seem to use it. It uses a texture with all the pictures in it, and then changes the Texture matrix of the texture to create a animation.

Otherwise, you can do this by having the texture be a variable, and then cycle through textures, as in this scene.

Versieon:

There are several things going on in this example I'm sure many users would be curious to discover the methods needed to achieve them.

I'm sure there is much code involved, ( I am no coder ), but if you would care to post some or all of the steps and code, I'll sure look it over.

Thanks for this example,
