The goal is to get the blue box into the green square. You may only edit within the border given. No scripting.

20 - speed
40 - efficiency
40 - looks

This is my own solution. Feel free to judge it.

How else will they learn? You have to drop your babies out of a nest one hundred feet about ground to teach them to fly, after all.

It's funny because babies can't fly!

Has my contest been done before?

At least not with this particular scene.

Is my contest overly simple or overly complex?

I suppose it's too simple for you?

Is my contest "stupid"?

Don't think so.

Does my contest have a well established set of rules that are not overly restraining on the participants?

This doesn't seem to require any more rules than What I've established.

If my contest needs a base scene (scene that others build their entries on), is it included in my first post?

Yep.

Does my contest have an ending date?

Not really. Is it so necessary?

Do I tell everyone how I will judge their entries?

Seemed clear enough. Guess I should have specified exactly how, but I don't see how this keeps anyone from participating.

I did read the guidelines.
Lighten up. I hate it when people are twats. This a fucking game.

Yes, it has. Remember Paradigm's contest? His was the same thing, but done better. Remember my Towers contest? VERY similar, but not as good.

The goal is rather simple. More specification would be welcome.
Is my contest "stupid"?

Don't think so.
Another 'move the box to the other box' contest. I've seen worse, so this would probably rank a 6/10 on the stupid scale, 1 being the most stupid.
Does my contest have a well established set of rules that are not overly restraining on the participants?

Rules are too vague IMHO.

If my contest needs a base scene (scene that others build their entries on), is it included in my first post?

Yep.

Does my contest have an ending date?

Not really. Is it so necessary?
Ending dates are a key part of successful contests. If the contest is going on forever, then the participants have no urge or obligation to submit their entries in any reasonable timespan.
Do I tell everyone how I will judge their entries?

Seemed clear enough. Guess I should have specified exactly how, but I don't see how this keeps anyone from participating.
What are the scores based off of? Are the entries being scored against each other, or against your solution? How is speed being judged? You really can't judge speed correctly without seeing a few entries, so you'd be behind on the scoring from the start. Since you didn't specify, we don't know when entries will be scored. 'Looks' is purely subjective and will prove to be a major source of bias. And how is 'looks' more important than speed? Rules are backwards.
I did read the guidelines. Reading is different from comprehension, I'm afraid.
Lighten up. I hate it when people are twats. People like yourself...?
This a fucking game. What is? Algodoo? Your contest? This conversation? Do specify, I'm intrigued.

TC42 does have a small point.

When you create a competition, you should ALWAYS have a deadline, without one you have a very small chance of anyone submitting a competition.

speed - how will you make judging on time fair, e.g. what score will you give if X amount of seconds where taken.

efficiency - how will you measure this? e.g. running the scene X amount of times, and testing how many simulation runs work correctly.

No body will want to enter, unless its clear that your judging system is fair.

Algodoo is a game.
This contest is a game.
You seem to be steering this conversation into a game.

End dates are important, but just because I didn't post one doesn't mean the contest would go on forever. I am unfamiliar with how long it takes to get a decent number of entries.

I had planned specific means of judging that I already said I should have posted (mostly to avoid twats like you whining).

I suppose you'd rather I hadn't posted this contest? It's annoying to you? Don't like it?

Everything you noted above is a matter of opinion.

You are a real twat.

I think that's the main part. The first post looks quite empty and unprepared, and scoring on looks is totally opinion. Also speed and efficiency only don't mean anything. I suggest you take a look at some other contests, to look how other people did it, and then improve your contest based on what you learn from them. An example of a good contest is for example http://www.algodoo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4928.

Btw, the edit button is there for a reason... including to avoid double posting, which is against forum rules!

The rules are actually just guidelines to make a successful contest,
not something everyone have to follow down to the last letter.
Especially in times when the number of contests are so low that a dialog can easily be held with the contest creator.
We don't want to take the fun out of create a new contest now do we? :)

If we keep on scaring away every new user, this forum will become even more deserted I'm afraid :?

What I was trying to criticize was that the criticism against Toolpot462 wasn't constructive. Every piece of criticism can be delivered in a positive way. If you don't have the energy to deliver your critisism in the right way, there is alway the options of not clicking on 'Submit'. I can't mention how many times I have contributed positively to a debate by shutting the fuck up at the right time.

Alas, my way of criticizing the criticism suffer from the exact same fault. It does hardly inspire to dialog when I compare people with the nazies.

So I am sorry. I was out of line.
