2 legged walker - Speed contest (250m sprint)!
Luckily this contest has very simple rules:
- Build a 2-legged walker
- Only it's feet must touch the ground, once it passes the first laser
- It must be built inside the red box
- NO UNREALISTIC STABILIZERS
- NO GLITCHES
- no modifying the scene
- Quickest time wins
- use a loophole in the rules and be disqualified
- one entry per person
- make the camera follow your bot
- post your scene as a reply to the contest scene
- no floating stuff (lighter than air)
- scripting is ALLOWED

My entry.
Rarely tail hits the ground after crossing laser, but when playing scene again, everything's fine.

Exactly why did you post that here.. If you don't know how to make an walker.. dont enter contest..?
And btw.. May it have some kind of an mechanical stabilizer.. such as an ball that moves around in an "shell"?
Edit.. I see this technique was already used in that entry by.. davidz i think. is it allowed?
If you have a question, have a dollar and call somebody that cares.
No really just PM me if you have a problem

is "gyroscope" (object hinged to the walker by two displaced hinges) considered realistical? It works very much like real one. Object swings from left to right like it's rotating in 3d around y axis.

no thats not allowed (since it's a LOT stronger than a real gyroscope)

i know how you feel! but should see some decent stuff come out of this i reckon from those who can. only walkers i've built are haphazard theo mechanisms.

I make my linkages by creating some boxes, linking them by hinges in some random pattern, attaching a pen to the box that is supposed to be "feet". Then I drag it the way it should move and observe the movement of other bars. Then I try to recreate the movement by mechanism.

Here is mine.
It uses a laser for stabilizing so it won't work in phun.
It does quite consistant 9.5
The gyro tells the legs how fast they have to walk to stay stable, so I think this stabilizer is within the rules.

yes it is. It does not physicly stabilize the scene via glitching.
btw.: still no entry in the walker category !!
edit: RaRaMalum do you think you can fix your runner so that it's not jumping big portions of the track? sometimes it jumps like 10 or 20 meters :/ thats somehow a bit against the rules I think (or at least unfair ). I still love the mechanism / concept

Updated my walker. Can do the course in 8.20, but needs few tries because it's unreliable
