Vending Machine Contest
Inspired by this really bad collab.
The base scene is here:
Requirements and Rules: (beware of continual edits to this section)
You must use the stuff included in the scene.
That is, you may not introduce your own candy, keys, or money.
You are allowed to change friction and restitution of the candy, keys, and money, but no other properties.
I must insert some amount of money, push a button, and receive exactly one piece of candy of the appropriate color. The machine doesn't, however, need to differentiate between exactly what I put in.
The button pushing must be triggered by an outside source- either the drag tool or a dedicated robot.
Aside from the inputs mentioned above, it must be entirely autonomous.
Thyme is allowed, but beware of point deductions.
You may mirror the keys. Not to mean you can use mirror and destroy keys- you can't. You can mirror the actual keys in the scene, so they can be inserted into the other side of the machine.
You are allowed to change the controllerAcc of the money.
You are allowed to set the price to whatever you want.
Any entry that I think is stupidly winning will be disqualified.
You are allowed to change the appearance of whatever you want. So long as it's still recognizable.
You are allowed the change collideSet of the money through scripts, but only to help with sorting them. However, beware of point deductions.
Clarification of Monetary System:
Circles are coins and are worth the number of cents stated on the front.
Boxes are bills (or at least the closest I could get) and are measured in dollars.
1 dollar = 100 cents.
Scoring:
Appearance 0-10 (This is subjective!)
Speed 0-20
Reliability 0-25
Ease of Use 0-20
Includes a dedicated service bot for moving around currency and such +10
No Thyme +20
Thyme is only collideSet onCollide, with colors to make it clearer +13
Thyme is entirely in stuff already on Algobox +7
Uses scene.my -10
Exposed a loophole without exploiting it +10
Ridiculously simple +10
Very Complex without Lagging Much +10
Lag 0-(-10)
Inserting key triggers release of stored money +5
Lock 0-15
Recognizes different currency amounts +17 (10 + compensation for unpublished scripts)
Adds up monetary amounts, uses this to decide whether or not to let you have some candy +20
Gives change +20
Allows you to have candy that you didn't pay for -30
Bonus points for otherwise unmentioned awesomeness will be awarded to deserving scenes.
Sorry about the highly chaotic scoring system.

EDIT: Changed topic title from "Candy Machine" to "Vending Machine Contest". Also clarified mirroring keys rule, outlawing key binds that mirror or destroy objects already in the scene while it's running.
EDIT:Three more things- You can set the price to whatever you want.
I will also disqualify any entry that I think is stupidly winning,
and also add bonus points to a scene that I think deserves them for awesomeness previously not mentioned.

Re: Vending Machine Contest
So the coins are in cents and the bills are in dollars?
I think I'm gonna enter(I've been saying that in a lot of contests and haven't even gone through with it) because I might have an idea for this. It's gonna be hard though, detecting without scripts. This should be fun.

Whoa. You're posting in a contest and not flaming it. I'm amazed.
You seem to have a complete understanding of my monetary system.
And you don't have to detect individual amounts at all. That's a bonus.
You can detect the presence of a coin/bill by, say, dropping it on a spring, and have a perfectly valid entry.
Anything within the Scoring section can be used or left out and still be left with a valid entry.
And I can't wait to see it.

Ahy. Don't take everything personal, man. You're even generalizing now. Geez. This one's actually a contest.
Oh so detecting each of them differently isn't a requirement? Well, I'm still gonna do it. Better score

I was just in the mindset of Byung-Hoon's contest.

If you fail to comply with something in the Requirements and Rules section, that entry gets disqualified. If you fail to comply with something in the Scoring section, you get points off. Simple as that. Differentiating between whether or not you put money in is required, differentiating between different individual amounts is a bonus.
Three more things- You can set the price to whatever you want.
I will also disqualify any entry that I think is stupidly winning,

Yeah, I guess you can change the appearance of whatever you want.
You can also change collideSet of the money through scripts, but only to help with sorting them. You know, if the coin's color is cyan, make that coin's collision B. But you get points off for using Thyme. Or rather, you don't get the bonus for not using it.

Wow, hard, but I'm sad we can't use many scripts... But otherwise it will be too easy !
I work on a very complex machine, but the problem is that I did many scene.my... I have to find another way...

Remember, that is not absolutely required, it's just worth 10 bonus points, after negating a penalty it also incurs.
You've still got a perfectly valid machine without it.

What is the "appropriate color"?

Hey, I just have finished my Candy Machine! That's not the best mech, but I hope you'll like it!
It's a little bit slow, but it works! 80 % mechanical. Some "robots" and only one OnLaserHit script for CollideSet.

Yes I know it really lags but it's because the machine is very big !

I didn't really know there was an "appropriate color"... unless you mean about the money and candy. You have to keep the overall colors of those as I have them in the scene, but you can do something like in RicH's image.

But other than that, not bad.Someone Else wrote:Oops! By this rule:
The button pushing must be triggered by an outside source- either the drag tool or a dedicated robot.
I mean that I want mechanisms triggered by an entirely independent robot outside of the machine, like in a real vending machine. I want the buttons to be on the side of the machine, like the money and output slots.
Also, my laptop does not like numpad keys. I don't know why. Just use the normal numbers.
Also, you don't need the Thyme- put the input slot farther up. It also does not like bills at all. It's OK if you make a different slot for them or disallow them entirely.
Also, by:
I must insert some amount of money, push a button, and receive exactly one piece of candy of the appropriate color.
I mean that the machine will not let me have more than one piece of candy. Period. With your machine, I can get one piece of candy of each of eight colors for one coin.
And I just noticed that I gave a 30-point deduction for breaking one of the rules. Oops...
Also, I made the opposite flaw on the soda machine I made a long time ago, which is the opposite of the flaw in your machine.
Mine, if you push the button in half-way and work to keep it there, it will continually dispense candy of that color. However, it will only let you have one color. Yours, however, will let you have one piece of each color. This makes me want to think HMMmmmmmm..............
