The idea of this contest is simple, anyone can enter! I'm sure many of you will find this contest rewarding and fun.

You must design a balloon using the template given, and that's about it!

Design it however you want, with whatever you want. It can be as simple or as complex as you like. There will be prizes!

Scoring:
?/85 | Your balloon design - I am judging on creativity! I want to see something spectacular.
?/15 | Your basket design - you must design a basket as well. Can be simple wooden texture if you want.
Extra points awarded for accessories! Examples include ragdolls and sandbags.

Rules:
1) Balloon is not functional for a reason. Do not make it fly or attempt to put an engine on it.
2) Nothing inappropriate on the balloon. No nudity, no sexual references.
3) Don't worry if you are not artistic, I will be gracious.
4) Feel free to put any accessories on the balloon!

How To Enter:
Simply add scene response to the given scene:

Bonus! If I really like your design, I will build any aircraft of your choice!

Scoreboard:
1)TC42 - 109/100
2) Someone Else - 27/100

Must it hover or glide?

I doubt it... read rule number 1.

But, there is a small chance I will enter. I will probably make the actual balloon lighter than air so it floats and I will add a simple air friction engine on a pivot to power it.
Why? BECAUSE I DO NOT CARE ABOUT RULES THAT ARE THERE FOR NO APPARENT REASON HAHAHA!
But, really, why is that rule there?

Because I said so. It's a design contest, and also if you win, you have just ruined the prize.

Well, anyway, I have posted my entry as a response to the base scene.
I will not post the scene here partly because I do not have to, partly because I am a bit lazy, and partly because of the rule I mentioned in a previous post.

So, hunt it down yourself.
There are two balloons. On the left one, drop the breakable sandbags by holding the up arrow. On the right one, toggle the engine by tapping Enter and rotate it with left and right.

[color=#E8E8FF] for the win!!!

EDIT- 100th post! Forgot to mention that.

Congrats, Someone Else!

Are we allowed to use textures that we've made ourselves? 'Cuz I cannot draw with the Algodoo interface, but I am good at Photoshop :D

Scoring:
8/85 | Just a gold texture, nothing amazing there...
7/15 | No real design on basket.
12 bonus points - I see sandbags and ragdoll, I also like that you have made a functioning basket.

Total:
27/100

Closing Comments:
You just had to make one that flew, didn't you? Anyway I am sorry about such a low score, but I think you could've done so much better.

Got that right.
But, at least now I can build a more powerful Thymed prop and still claim Phundamentalism.

Dare wrote:Anyway I am sorry about such a low score,

Ah, it's okay. I sort of slapped something together just to prove a point. I say sort of because, well, it seems that nobody other than Paradigm or Conundrumer could possibly consider that level of complexity "slapping something together".

Dare wrote:but I think you could've done so much better.

Probably. But, as I said above, I made these balloons mainly to prove a point.

Dare wrote:8/85 | Just a gold texture, nothing amazing there...

The gold texture was really only there so the polygons in the balloon would actually look like polygons instead of rounded, disconnected blobs.
On the basket, the design is actually a wooden texture- the noncolliding part is oriented with the grain horizontal and is mostly transparent, while the colliding part is opaque and reddish, so its vertical grain shows partly through. I tried to make it sort of look like it was woven out of some kind of reed.

Did you see my invisi-text in my last post? It is kind of important, but not completely original. I saw invisi-text on some old post somewhere, and then set out to replicate it. I really don't know exactly what the color should be, but oh well. It's close enough.
Do I win the imaginary prize for the imaginary Most Quotes to One Post in One Post Award?

Thought i'd give this a go. Happy with colourful design, really cool yet simple flame/burner effect. Press up to ignite.

Don't mark it cos i'm not finished yet.

At the moment, you have got me beat on the balloon part for sure.
The burner thing should get you some bonus points.
But, I see no ragdolls, sandbags, or functional baskets. All of which mine have.
Even so, you probably have me beat.

Man, that thumbnail came out perfectly!

Press the up arrow to use the burner
Press the down arrow to drop the sand bags (and watch some of the sand come out :D)
I love textures. The texture tool is my frieeeeeend.....

All of it is made by me except for the wicker texture and the Emil rag-doll.

EDIT: Crap. The textures don't show up when you download it. I can't find a fix for this bug; you'll just have to look at the thumbnail to see the textures :( Oh well... there goes my chance at winning... The rest of it still functions, though, textures or not. Please grade the looks by the thumbnail because you can't see the textures in the scene.

Thank you for the quick response!! I wonder why the textures don't work on my PC... :problem:

Anyway, Nxdt, I may just have to 'borrow' your burner idea and implement it in my scene.
Hehehehehe

Bumping this to get it back to the top.

Any more entries? ;) Contest Forum is weak these days, people don't know a good contest when they see one.

Yeah, I noticed that the contest forum has gone down quite a bit (even if I was not a user back then :D). We need more active users (how many are there? 10? 15? Maybe 25 at a stretch). It is sad... Now I've contributed to the bump; I support it!!

 for the retard of the day.

Please read rules and info before entering into this contest. There is no way in hell I'm marking this balloon or even considering it an entry into the contest.

Disqualified.
