A WELL BALANCED CANNON?
You may have asked the question above... Let me explain what I mean, I want you future destroyers of the known universe to create a cannon that can go hit 48 38 kg/m^2 density bricks, and continue until all bricks are knocked off, while flying straight
There Must be no glitches at all...(impossible? You tell me.)
Keep the weapon in the Red Box.

Rules
1.scripting is allowed only if it is explained and somewhat simple
2.Fire rate must be at least 30 rounds a second
3.Must be able to eject shells a reasonable distance-no higher than 3 meters and no farther than 4 meters
4.Must not glitch through targets
5.Bullets highest density is 7.8 lowest is 1.5
6.NO WATER IS ALLOWED-I AM USING WINDOWS 2000 at the moment.
7.No stealing other guns...
8.Must be your own mechanism
9.Must not go through target at the end (the large one)
10.NO EDITING original SCENE
11.NO EDITING SCENE
12.NO EDITING SCENE
13.NO EDITING SCENE
14.You can actually put up to 3 entries however you will lose 20 points for every extra entry (to keep it fair)
Scoring
You will be scored on a basis of 400 points.
power-100
reliability-50
stability(if it explodes or not)-50
Automatic (if automatic there must be very little jams) or semi auto (there must be no jams at all)-25
Color scheme (there must be no dorky colors on here ex pink, purple)-75
Lack of lag(if there is no lag)-25
Complexity (I am not asking for atomic fusion)-10
Awe-inspiring (if it can make me say "HOLY #@!$, THAT IS $#@%&$# awesome) -65



Bonus points
Originality-10
Simplicity-10 (this will override the Complexity, only if you state it when you post)
Speed of 90,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 m/s-60,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 ( I would like to see you try that without crashing Algodoo or Phun)

Point Reductions
Any rule broken-50
If you use a loop hole- 300
If you annoy me about what a bad contest this is- I wont even count your entry because you probably didnt even enter...

So I can simple spawn a bullet.
From what I can see, no rules are broken. Its simple scripting.

Wow... I could easily modify my scripted machine gun to get the super-epic speed bonus but also the nonexistent super-epic recoil penalty. I would simply make the restitution box's restitution +inf. So easy, I am going to wait to do that.
HAHAPWNAGE! But it might go straight through anything.
:idea: I will add a HAHAPWNAGE barrel on top of the first one.

Well, you could shoot all thirty rounds at once, one time per second :D I just might have to try that.
But seriously, it is possible, but can you imagine the amount of ammo needed for 1 minute (just enough for proper testing) of shooting? uberlag! :yawn: especially on your Windows 2000. You would be waiting for hours just to fire the first shot.

@Someone Else-- If increase the restitution too much, the main hinge supporting your gun will actually twist mid-firing, leading to accuracy issues

And actually My windows 2000 works pretty well for algodoo oddly enough

Have you ever seen my Machine gun that uses motors to guide a chain of bullets up and into the gun while firing bullets and ejecting shells? It can hit a pretty high fire rate if u look at it...

check these out see if you can use an idea to make a fast firing cannon
If they don't hit the fire rate you want, increase the motor speed in the bullet feed.
I would like some comments on them too

Does the gun have to have shells and use them? The rules are unclear... Also by saying that it must be 'your own mechanism' does that mean we cannot use chain-guns? That mechanism has already been used countless times.

And by the way... my gun can shoot 200 rounds in 0.92 seconds (217 rounds per second)... and it's not even at its limit... :D
It can shoot 200 rounds in 0.35 seconds (571 rounds per second), but then it's not accurate or stable.

You forgot the most important rule, the 'holy grail' of loop-hole abuse... You never said we couldn't modify the scene!

Yea crap you cant modify the scene i will edit that
and you can use chainguns as long as you didn't like take it from another scene

Not possible. I set the velocity of a box to that number, and nothing happened :lol: Not even the slightest hint of a possibility of an inkling of consideration of a thought that it would maybe crash. I can, however, shoot a circle so fast, it won't even register in Algodoo/Phun. :D

I can make a lag-bomb in 30 seconds that WILL crash Algodoo/Phun, GUARANTEED.
1. Make a circle.
2. Select it, hit Ctrl-C.
3. Go into its own onCollide and hit Ctrl-V.
4. Change pos to pos := e.pos and onCollide to onCollide := onCollide.
5. DO NOT TOUCH IT. Whenever anything does, it spawns a clone of itself. The clone auto-collides with the original, so you get an exponentially increasing amount of circles.

Oh, and it has been proven. I used this to crash Algodoo when I accidentally set it to fullscreen.
It's not impressive, but it WORKS. And it's EASY.

Hmmm, never crashed algodoo before ( meaning I haven't played with it enough :D I used to crash phun all the time when I played with scripting) Anyway, back on topic, I think I have a design mostly worked out, but will we be able to edit entries, and/or submit more than one entry?
