Still if you post it early you pretty much patented that idea, i think they are waiting for algobox to have the secret scenes function.

If we win, can we refuse the prize?

You can now upload scenes to the christmas contest scenegroup, which is invisible to everyone (including you, that is). You won't be able to see your scene again, but that's the intention of moving it there

Wow Algorix had to have made a million dollars in the first day Algodoo was released and they are giving away a T shirt
Give me a break.

it's not about a t-shirt it's about having fun creating scenes

What if someone (me) here wasn't christian? That would stop me from winning, scince I won't do something christmassy. If I were jewish, would i do something chanaka-y? If I were athiest, would i do something not at all religious?

then just try it or wait for another contest. canceling it or changing the rules completely is just unfair for the majority of users.

Well seeing as Christmas isn't really a christian celebration, its been there before christianity claimed it theirs(the bibel doesn't actually say when the fictional character Jesus was born).
So you can go ahead and join this contest without feeling more unholy than usual
I myself is an athiest and I enjoy Christmas as much as the next guy.

A million dollars? What the hell are you talking about? I know it's an exaggeration but dude, they probably haven't made that much money yet.

I'm not Christian either, but it's not stopping me from making an entry. No reason to get all butthurt and ruin other people's fun. Demanding that everyone make special exceptions for your culture is a form of intolerance.

emilk wrote:* The scene must have a winter theme
What part of winter theme means everything must have something to do with religion, what about a snowscape or winter sports? It doesn't matter what your believes are nothing says it must be a religious related scene, of course its fine if it is.

It's called a CHRISTMAS contest, not a WINTER contest.

The rules states that the scene must have a
winter theme, it says nothing about the scene being "christmassy". Any winter theme will do, call it Christmas, Yule, Winter Solstice or whatever.

Let me reply with this quote:
Shakespeare wrote:What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Sorry. I automatically assumed it had to have a christmas theme, since it was called a christmas contest.

Ok, just thought since it's called the:
Oficial Algodoo Christmas Contest - with prizes!
But I did notice it said winter contest in the rules, so it all makes sense now.

When you submit the scene is it supposed to act weird?
First time I tried to upload it gave me an error uploading.
The second time it said "Scene not found!"
Can I get a confirmation upload?

Read the startpost:
To enter the a scene into the contest, upload it to Algobox, fill in your information, and choose the 'algodoo christmas contest' scenegroup. This will hide the scene from public viewing (not even you can see it, actually), this to keep up the suspense! When we announce the winners, all scenes will be made public.
You will get a confirmation warning from me when I see your scene (I check more than one time a day for that).
But basically, if you got as far as the details page, you can be pretty sure it's in the system

What happens if we want to update the scene or change the description once we upload. (I haven't yet)
Do we just re submit the thing with the updates and add II, III, IV, et cetera to the end.

You can just re-upload and use the same title, but indeed with a versioning number at the end. We will only consider the highest version number (although you can have multiple submissions.. As long as they're all awesome and original!)

Out of interest mystery, Is your scene going the have a hot climate since you live in the southern hemisphere where winter here is actually summer over there?
Edit; Its snowing! Woot
