Let's build dragster! 8-)
1/4 mile (402m) track.

100Hz

Rules are very strict:

Engine:
Type - Spawn only
Size - 1x2m max
Weight - 300kg max (without spawned particles)
Spawned geoms fits in cylinder/chamber
Not more than one spawn geom per cycle (in piston/chamber)
On collide / onLaser hit scripts only

Gearbox:
Any type, any scripts. Should not brake physics law and only transform torque/rpm.
added rule1: Fixed ratios, fixed geoms size/density. Manual - controlled.
added rule2: Strict size - should not be bigger than half of engine size.

Car:
Size - 6x2m max
Weight - at least 1700kg (without spawned geoms)
Max wheel diameter - 1m
Must have semi-realistic body or frame (looks like real car) with density at least 100

Challenge cup and medal waiting for a winner!
It will be a permanent contest, post your scenes and try to beat best time!

To simplify design rules changed - gearbox must be with fixed ratrios and manualy controlled.
No change of circles radius/density.

Gearbox size need to be limited.
Let's strict it to half of engine size (ex. 1x1 or 0.5x2 etc). :geek:

Scene.my.variables allowed? And for the gearbox (i didn't understand) it has to be of fixed ratios or we can make gears from 1:4 to 1:1?
I thought this wasn't the first contest of it's kind, but it'll be the first in which I'll take part! :D
edit, I didn't see the track xD

Yes, NP wit scene.my. variables. Just don't touch scene.my.start - its for score.

"Fixed" means not CVT like in my first version.

You could make any spawn engine with inside-spawn (no propultion).

I wonder, If i build a better engine for Kilinich's superman dragster, could I still enter it or does the whole car have to be built by me alone?

I did build an excellent engine, but I the car it was built for was junk so I might just install my engine in your car...

EDIT : Well never mind, because the dang thing's not letting me share my scene for some reason. It just says "you are not authorized to edit this scene" whenever I hit the share button.

Try uploading the scene on Algobox directly, sometimes the built-in algobox browser has issues.

OK, but where does algodoo save its scenes?

Algodoo saves it's scenes at:
Code: Select all
C:\Users\<Your User Name>\Documents\Algodoo\scenes

go to your home folder, there should be a folder called Algodoo, either in that folder or inside a documents folder.
if not, let me know and I'll try boot on OSx on my PC and find the folder.

Okay, I cheated and mounted my OSx partition in Linux, for me it's in this folder from the root of the drive, not sure how you'd get there, but that is where the files will be: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Algodoo

That didn't work either.
