Hi ppl!
I think that will be a great contest!
You equipped with engine (V24 collision engine, my design). It's powerful enough for move a real-weigh car.
The goal is to build truck (with transmission and suspension) to race 1 km offroad as fast as possible.
It's Phun/Algodoo contest!
To start race press enter. On finish line time will be displayed automatically.
Rules:
1) No engine/scene modification
2) Min weight 2000 kg (with engine)
3) Must fit in gray box (3x6 m)
4) No initial speed
5) No other engines/busters of any type
6) Motors allowed only for service functions (active suspension, gearbox, etc)
7) Body and any parts outside of body must collide with A and/or B collision groups
8) Wheels/tracks must collide with A collision group
9) Max wheels/tracks friction 1
10) No attraction to the ground
11) No directional controllers
12) No flying/jump extender devices based on spawning/disattracrion/air friction
You allowed to:
Use laser rays of any work range (for detecting landscape, smart suspension, position detector, etc.)
Place engine anywhere with any angle (within box)
Use as many wheels/tracks as you need
Use any type of suspension/transmission/gearbox
Any scripting, use lasers, etc.
Use stabilization/active suspension/jumping devices based on mechanical design
Use air friction devices for stabilization (like in RaUnit2)
Mirror engine to reverse it
Winner of autonomous vehicles class is simple fastest one.
Winner of human controlled vehicles is one who has best summary time of self-driving and drive by me (sorry but I want to get sure your time is possible).
If vehicle flips during race and not able to move - attempt failed.
p.s. Please post your trucks as response to contest scene!

I'm going to enter, but one question: Is stabilising device that pushes car towards ground to keep it from fallign/flipping considered as a booster/engine?

No, it's not allowed, stabilization device must only generate a momentum or push car back (air friction).

Good attempt for begining! I can tell you mine do a loop so it's possible, but i think I make track modification and give an option not to do loop but use alternative slow way.

Well... the point of that contest is to make everything with that engine =) but if you want and your engine will be equal or less powered - no problem =)

Re: Truck design contest - you've got V24 engine! (Phun/Algodoo)
Heres mine.
The gearbox is the only "new" part on this vehicle and I think its a rather smart one
it can fail, but I guess that goes for all autonomous things in algodoo(1 out of 10 failed).
If anyone beats its time I'll try and improve it or come up with a new design(lets keep this contest alive).
and kilinich the engine is quite nice to use, so great job.

Scene will be updated: 45 deg hill (after loop) friction increase from 0.5 to 1.5 to reduce difficulty.

Well I don't really think thats needed, I've already made a new design that handles that hill much better.

ok, let it be as it was - 0.5
Here it is my entry:
Softwheel, RPM - based automatic gearbox.
Sometimes fail on a second climb but good time in general ~110-120 sec.
