How can you script a object to 'jump' instead of it flying?

Postby gameaddictwn » Fri Jan 06, 2012 1:49 pm

I'm trying to make a platforming level but I can't figure out how to make the object jump. When I put the directional controller in it just flies upward. I checked out the thyme scripting tutorials but I really don't understand any of it. I tried downloading some other platforming scenes but everyone just says that the scene is availible anymore. How do I make a object jump?

Springs, hinges. Invent something mechanical.
Or you can use something like this http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details/57129
Dream of Algodoo as game development engine...

If it's not too much to ask, can you make a scene with that? Then I can study the mechanics and try to make my own sort of thing

Sure i'll upload in a sec i've already done it.

This is what I came up with, doesn't roll unfortunatly as rolling kind of bugged out the mechanism I used. It will only move when in contact with the ground ans the expanding mechanic allowed for some cool gameplay.

Just made a jumping ball with scripting. Wasn't too hard. It only works in algodoo 2.0.0 or newer, because it uses readables.
