Walkers can be quite simple to make. If you search algodoo box for walkers, you will get lots of results.
Tank here has made lots of excelent walkers, http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/profile.php?id=36 download a few scenes and you should be able to figure out how he makes them. Simple Walkers can be very easy to make, with only about 20 objects, and more complex ones are much harder.

The easiest kind of walker to make, in my opinion, is a quadruped with a simple 4-bar linkage.

Hinge together some boxes in some way.
Stick a tracer on the end of the box that is going to be the "foot".
Motorize one of the hinges.
Start the sim.
The tracer will show the path the foot will take. You can adjust the mechanism based on this.

You can then add various auxiliary mechanisms, such as parallelogram linkages to keep the feet level or stabilizers.
Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.
I love my brain...

Recently, I discovered something a lot of you probably already knew: Minecraft is awesome.
Due to this, I may not be as active as usual for a while.

This should really be in the help section.

To make a walker you need to have a linkage. I put together a sample scene.

These are Klann linkages. You can modify any of the pieces to change the way it walks by increasing the stride, height, etcetera.
