[Tutorial]Thyme Tutorial - With explanations at every step

About advanced scenes, and the Thyme scripting language used in Algodoo.

I would add something about geval in the eval section, or just make a new section for it.
Excercises would be pretty neat, with the answer code hidden so you could see how it was done!

Hmmm...this is confusing. If there is a TUTORIAL, but it is based on THYME, which section does it go in? These are the questions that make me think life is short...anyway very useful.

I agree. All new stuff should be explained so we can easaly understand them better. Exercises, examples and tutorials would be really great.

Yea this would really help, however it means more work for the OP.

How about making a nice "wiki-page" if there isn't one already and if there is advertise it!
If not it could be editable by anyone and then confirmed by others. After that it's getting implemented to the page :D

There already kind of is that http://www.algodoo.com/wiki/Thyme
I think Grady or Tatt (???) are working on it.

Not true, perhaps not so great on the 101 side of things (like from the start) he seems to get too advanced too quick (Grady we aren't all super smart :)) but this works amazing if you already have a grasp of the subject.
XD Half of what i know about thyme was from Grady teaching me on xat.

Quarter of the thyme i know was from him saying "It's simple really.....", then me zoning out, and retaining little bits of information, here and there. The rest is from when i spam him code and ask why it doesn't work.
He fixes it, and doesn't bother explaining what was wrong :S

What I've learned, Kile, is that you have to ask him to show you your mistakes. Even then, he still does a poor job explaining how he fixed it.

I guess there was no way of fixing it Grady kept all his knowledge of thyme to himself refusing to make any sort of tutorial explaining it at every step.

Re-read, realise you've missed out a few words, re-write so we can understand it.

I think the tutorial need to be reordered in order of relevance (like basic oncollide stuff first) making it easy to learn quicker.

good suggestion mystery.
I also think that this should be wiki'd.
it would make it more accessable and updateable by other members

got a question. how would you make an object loosen itself when it collides with something?

I've tried e.this.looson, and e.this.geometry = loosen, and pretty much everything I could think of... but none of them worked...

e.this.loosen + similar will not work. As far as I know there's not a way :(

So far as there is, that is the case.

Great tutorial, but I agree with Mystery in that it needs to be reordered a bit.
Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.
I love my brain...
