Algodoo water Z level.

Postby Xray » Sat Nov 23, 2019 9:24 pm

I've played around with Algodoo water in scenes quite a lot over the years, and the one thing about it that has often frustrated me is the fact that water is always the farthest object in the background. In other words, it appears that there cannot be any other object (such as geometries, lasers, axles, and other things) behind water. So, does anyone know if it might be possible to either move water (in the Z direction) in front of other objects, or to move other objects behind water?

Thanks!

Nope, since water is literally nothing more than a particle with a position and velocity, with all other properties being global, there is no way of changing it's properties to render differently. There is no global ZDepth for water either, so it's impossible to change that kinda behavior in any way :(

FRA32 - That's what I thought. I was just hoping that someone might have a clever trick or a work-around that might work to change that.

Thanks for your reply!
