Where can I start to learn scripting or thyme?

Postby iamironhide » Fri Dec 07, 2018 9:59 am

I haven't been able to find an exact tutorial and I have asked people or have only been able to copy code from a scene (not to republish) Just to play with that script, but I would love to learn how to create my own, espeically since I recently read that Thyme is a custom language that is built into Algodoo only. There have been some scenes where some people can make a block or shape a weapon but the thing is that they make that shoot a ball or it can be any object and on contact will create a laser ball, this is just an exmaple of what I would like to learn, also I would love to learn about Scene.my and putting an angle limit on axles. This would be great for Transformers since I am a huge fan of them. That would be awesome, thanks so much!

Doc671 has a scripting tutorial on Youtube, it's really your best shot if you want to see it in video. Otherwise, you can use the stickies on this topic. :)

Hello my name is Kenlimepie. I'm an Algodoo Enthusiast, and Marble Racer. I run a Youtube channel which is about Algodoo Marble Racing, but I am not afraid to design new ideas in this program. https://www.youtube.com/c/kenlimepie

The best way to learn scripting is by downloading scripted scenes and Analyzing their workings. Get into touch with people who know scriting(like me ) and ask them for help. Maybe look on this page http://algodoo.wikia.com/wiki/Thyme

The Thyme method list that is pinned on this subforum is very usefull for the tools that can be used with thyme, the rest is experimenting.
