Is there a way to get an object to update if its touching something? Like a timer that as soon as an object stops touching something the timer starts to count down and if the object touches something again the timer resets?

No, onCollide could not detect "stop touching", but I found the way to do it for lasers. Same could be done with onCollide if constantly change collideSet to force onCollide event work every tick. It's not easy to make code but possible.
