The key is to use different collision groups for different gears. Now since I haven't actually *built* a scripted gearbox before you'll have to correct me if I'm wrong...

There are two different (well, four actually) types of gear boxes--Completely scripted and script-mechanical. For script mechanical gears, I cannot fully explain it, so I'll have to upload an example scene to explain it.

Before I go off on some giant gearbox tangent, which kind do you want to make? Completely scripted/scripted mechanical? Auto/Manual?

It should explain everything you need to do

the easiest way (with clutch) is to change the clutch collideset with lasers and give each gear another collideset.
i'll upload a scene soon.
edit: done.

I have just built a Thymechanical 6-speed manual transmission.
Press 0 to go into neutral, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 to jump to that gear.
It is entirely collision-based and phunlet-friendly.

Let me know if you can't figure this out.

At some point, I may turn this into an RPM-controlled automatic transmission. But not now.
Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.
I love my brain...

ARE YA HAPPY NOW?????

Recently, I discovered something a lot of you probably already knew: Minecraft is awesome.
Due to this, I may not be as active as usual for a while.
