2.0.1b6 Translations: Unnecessary words?

Postby tatt61880 » Sat Nov 12, 2011 7:49 am

Where are the words below (which is in English.cfg) used?
AboutText = "Created by Emil Ernerfeldt\n" +
"Copyright 2008-2011, Algoryx simulation (http://www.algoryx.se)\n" +
"algodoo@algoryx.se\n" +
"www.algodoo.com\n";

Various = "Various";

ChainBreakeImpulse = "Impulse break limit";
ChainBreakeImpulse_Tooltip = "The chain will break if it ever experiences an impulse greater than the given threshold.\nDrag the slider with the right mouse button to randomly distribute the break limit over an interval.";

MotorSpeedConstant = "Speed constant";
MotorSpeedDamping = "Speed damping";
MotorTurnTorque = "Turn torque";

'sd_browsedata_docu' => 'Click on one or more items below to narrow your results. <br /> To reset filters, click here:',
'sd_browsedata_addanothervalue' => 'Add values by clicking - To remove a value, click again.',

It is difficult for me to translate when I don't have information where the word is used.
Are they necessary to be translated?

To translators: English.cfg changelog will be useful (even for me).

I think the about text is in the about/info screen shown on startup ;)
The chainbreakimpulse is in the settings when creating a chain (the option screen when the chain tool is selected)

The motor speed ones are used in the axle menus.
I do stuff and break things. You know how it is.

I'm guessing the bottom one is used in the Algobox search.

I've translated them into ###-one (see below). Currently this translation must be included even in your Algodoo.
Could you find any of them in Japanese translation?
Please take a screen-shot for me if you find them.

Code: Select all
ChainBreakeImpulse = "###Impulse break limit";
MotorSpeedConstant  = "###Speed constant";
MotorSpeedDamping   = "###Speed damping";
MotorTurnTorque     = "###Turn torque";

'sd_browsedata_docu'                => '###Click on one or more items below to narrow your results. <br /> To reset filters, click here:',
'sd_browsedata_addanothervalue'      => '###Add values by clicking - To remove a value, click again.',

Example. NOTE: Which "Impulse break limit" is described at HingeBreakeImpulse, not ChainBreakeImpulse.

And "AboutText" is a bit different between actual one and English.cfg.

"Copyright 2008-2011, Algoryx simulation (http://www.algoryx.se)\n" +
"algodoo@algoryx.se\n" +
"www.algodoo.com\n";

Maybe they're for secret planned features, and are in there so the translators can get them early?
