Thyme arm grabber
[scene]51943[/scene]
if you look at the bottom of the arm, theres a bar. i would like to make it that when you press a button, it spawns a fixate to it and whatever it is intersecting. i forgot to change the bar to no colision at all. and the fixate must have a destroy key

Re: Thyme arm grabber
I would suggest putting my Dockable Module Coupler thing from the Modular Spaceship Collab on the end of the arm thing and on whatever you want to attach to. Because (I think) spawning a fixate will be really difficult. It would probably require Grady's New Method, which you must find yourself.
Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.

I've try more than you can imagine -) not gonna work in 1.8.5. They broke the only way it can be done in (as I remember) 1.7.1 - before that you can use app.step/undo for getting geomID of existing objects.

e.geom.geomID won't work?
Gah!! That makes the universe explode!!
Also, algodoo got slower somewhere between 1.6 and 1.8.5

Wait- so they killed the New Method?
Gah!! [I had to.]
We should sue for... something. Maybe a discount for the next version of Algodoo that our current licenses will not unlock.
But if it still works (the New Method is app.step-app.undo), it's either that, e.pos, and e,normal
OR
Docking Couplers. I vote the latter.
And TC42, I agree that geomID, zDepth, and all that stuff should be accessible by conventional means. That is, viewable and modifiable by anything, anywhere. As Java would say, "in the public domain". And it should be possible to have something that only collides with a specific geomID- so you can make lots of spawn engines without spamming the scene with attraction.

app.step/undo works, and you can get all info, but seems like undo operation completely change geomID sequences, so you can't use values you've get.
