[1.7.6] Out Of Memory - Autosave
------------------------------
System Specifications
Phenom II X4
10GB RAM
9600GT
------------------------------
Since 4.22 (I assume before as well), there have been issues with going to ~2GB RAM usage for me, but until 1.7.5, the limitations were realistic - somewhere along the lines of 64-128k geometries (4.22) to 16k geometries (~ 1.7.4), it is very realistic to expect very few scenes to go past 16k geometries, but in 1.7.5, the memory used by creating new geometries was huge (loading pre-made scenes was fine), consequentially, the maximum usage was reached far faster, at about 2k-4k geometries, it's realistic to expect scenes to lie in this region.
--
I downloaded the newest version of Algodoo (1.7.6), and installed it, opened a new scene from the scene I was on previously, and thought I'd see if the Memory Usage issue had been fixed, so I created a box and cloned it 11 times (I think, 2048 geometries) and pressed delete while it was completing this action, after a little while, it was confirmed the memory issue still existed, the message "Out Of Memory!" appeared, I didn't really expect anything different, but then when I opened Algodoo again, I noticed the memory usage continuing to climb, until it got to the point where it displayed "Out Of Memory!".
--
So, I went to check how the file looked, so I tried to open it in an archive program (usually works for .phz files), after attempting to do this, it gave me a message saying that it couldn't open the file, after I had a look at the file, I realised that the extension was .phn instead of .phz, which is odd.
--
The _AUTOSAVE file saved with 2048 geometries, so I think it may have saved just after the clones took place.
--
This seems like it'll be difficult to fix, though the temporary solution is to simply move the scene to a separate folder.
--
Great work on the newest versions too

Re: [1.7.6] Out Of Memory - Autosave
i think that there was an issue like this ages ago. It take it you have a 64 bit version of your operating system.
also, in algodoo, script performance has dropped and objects also rely heavily on the scripting system (they are created and work using it)
