Showing Siminfo ([File]- [Show sim-info]) always puts the warning about duplicated widget, except the first time.

The suggestions below are what I suggested for Phun Edition.
I believe that they are good suggestions (because they have got positive comments :-) ), and not so difficult to be implemented.

Show the tool size with cursor.
The scale indicator drop shadow
Escape key: Cancel selecting object

The widths of chars should have the same value for 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, + and -.


By the way, I feel the red colored chars are very difficult to read.
How do you feel? Is it easy to read the words below Energy: -7.7895 J ?

Edit: Fixed already (with v1.6.6)! thanks emilk. =)

A bug with sketch tool. This bug occurs only with v1.6.5.
The way to reproduce this bug.
(1) Select sketch-tool.
(2) Make plane and do NOT release mouse-button till the rotate-circle appears.
(3) This bug occurs. The rotate-circle does not disappear and you cannot make other geometries except planes.

when binding keys to activate hinges/lasers, using the shift, ctrl, and alt keys reverts back to the old behavior(like left_shift) and uses the new behavior at the same time(shift). if you use multiple activation keys using them(example: right_shift shift 1), you need to release both of them at the same time, or it still keeps the hinge/laser activated.



also, when moving the hue color slider past the limit loop, there's a small zone on which it shows it going back to the other side. it's so small you might need to move single pixels to see it.

Another thing, i've noticed that each object's code includes every value now, I think it should be reverted to only include values that are not default, like color, pos, and size.

if you select an object, do a ctrl c and then paste into word, all the values are printed. Only the non default values should be included, seems like it would be more efficent.

Hope you understand what i mean.

Help me boil down this to a very simple case and I'll make an effort to fix it soon. Else, it will have to wait.

This goes for most bugs, ladies and gentlemen. The first thing I do when debugging stuff like this is to try replicating the behavior with the fewest possible objects, ideally a scene with just two objects. If you help me with this I can fix the bugs far faster!

Emil's right. It's a debugging nightmare to sift through thousands of lines of code to find what's broken.

I hate when I copy (or more presicely move) things, and want them to be in the same place as the original object, the VERY annoying Menu pops up instead of copying things :(

How To reproduce:

1. Make a geometry(or pretty much anything else)
2. Select it.
3. Hold CTRL
4. Keep holding, and hold down left mouse button(without moving it).
5. Does it copy? NO!!!! It opens tre friggin MENU!!!

srry fo' bad english....
(srry for capital letters and way too many exclamation marks, it's just that i'm a bit ANNOYED!!!!)

1.6.5
1) Did anyone notice "hide windows" spoil positions and visibility on restart?
2) Script menu sometimes appears under "plot" button and other menus instead of foreground.

1.6.5 is a bit slower than 1.6.0
For example I have 100% realtime in my IL-76 scene using 1.6.0 and lags (~60%-80% realtime) in 1.6.5

When you bring up the spring menu, all it says for the "spring constant" is NaN.
How to replicate: Select a spring, go to the spring menu, drag the spring menu, change the spring constant, then undo the slider change.
I do stuff and break things. You know how it is.

I noticed this also. I liked how Algodoo had decreased lag over phun and I hate to see it go the other way. I could do without what ever features are slowing it down in 1.6.5 rather than increased lag, the new features are not all that big of a deal to me.

Althoug lag is bad, i would rather have the new features, and wait for multi-core support or the like to fix any lag added by the features. I would really like to use the other 75% proccesing power of my computer!!

I would rather less lag over more features any day less lag actually enables us to do more then any new feature could ever do.

Some feedback on your feedback:

Bugs in the physics engine (bad attraction, friction, collisions, ...) will not we fixed for 1.7.0 but instead for a later update. Same goes for various optimizations. This release is all about the user interface. Kilinich: that includes your "Annoying shakes bug" (which, btw, is a very old bug). Thanks for boiling it down to something so simple though, I will start working on it as soon as 1.7.0 is released.

Tatt: the bug with the star will be fixed, as will the issue with the entity information.

RA2lover: the input keys for laser activation etc will be fixed so that "left shift" means "left shift", and nothing else.

Kilinich (and others): yes a nice slider for the script menu would be good, and I will add a scroll pane one day, but right now it will take more work than it's worth (the people using the script menu is still a very small part of the Algodoo user base) - instead I will be making the window throwable upwards too, so you can scroll through the variables that way.

Versieon: I serialize everything for easier backwards compatibility in the future (so it won't matter if defaults change). Yes, it takes up more space, but hard drive space is cheap, and the performance impact is minimal.
