Losing scripts

Postby orbitor » Tue Feb 23, 2010 9:34 pm

it happens to me alot that my scripts just vanish.

for example, when i put this in the text script box : {scene.my.text}
then it works for a short time, but if i then click play to test something out, and then just press the back button agian untill before the sim start, the script is gone.

this also is the same when i save it, oncollide scripts and onlaserhit scripts just stay, but at most other things (like text) they just disappear.

is there anything i can do to stop this from happening?

next time type in {"" + scene.my.text} so this text gets converted to string (because only strings work in the text script box and no numbers)

i also get this problem with a few lines but not with the text. do you always press enter after you entered {"" + scene.my.text} to the text box?
maybe you have to try another scene. So make a new scene and try it again. maybe at least then it's working

are you sure you did everything just right? just to be sure: did you declare scene.my.text or other variables if you need them?

Yea, i got it too with attraction settings. tried to make a scene once using that too. had the same problem.

actually now i start thinking, it indeed never happend before to me either. i've made scenes before using the text script function, however it always used to stay there.

really weird :/

It's probably The Bug (that deletes lines of coding when you undo or load) again.

Then it's The Bug. Really common, and it's being worked on, I think.

It's the same problem which i posted before ;-), one time Algodoo saved my script even when i saved the scene and reloaded it, but then only 2 min or so later, the script was deleted again xD i really think that this is a bug, because I've really done everything right. I hope it will be fixed soon, because it's really annoying. I can't explain it to myself why it sometimes works and sometimes not :problem:
