Measuring Linear Power?

Postby Anbang11 » Thu Dec 24, 2015 4:14 am

When we need to measure angular power (i.e. engines), we usually measured it by applying brakes and multiplying the brake torque and angular velocity. But how do we measure linear power?

Okay, but actually I do want to measure rocket power!

mass of rocket(kg) * acceleration(m/s²) = power(N)
with gravity and airfriction turned off

Another way without calculations:
Place your rocket between two planes so it can only move in one direction. Attach a spring to your rocket with spring constant 1N/m. Turn gravity off. Start the simulation and watch how high your rocket goes. Height in meters = force in Newtons.

So put rocket on that truck. You could increase mass of brick if you need.

Cool! With enough parameter and clear without exploit rules, one can create rocket contest!
