Setting Rigid Springs

Postby Samuel_PH_Loke » Thu May 21, 2015 11:43 am

Hi Algodoo! I'm trying to use your software to simulate a cantilever resonance in the form of springs with end masses. I developed a wheel-operated piston that drives these spring-mass systems, but after awhile, because of the wheel operation, the springs develop an x-direction motion, which I do not desire. Is there any way to restrict the x-displacements of the springs and masses? Perhaps by setting some code? I am reminded of how the videogame littlebigplanet allows for the ends of the springs to have locked rotation. Wondering if this is possible. Cheers!

P.S. I tried surrounding the piston with two fixed rectangles on either side to ensure it doesn't move in the x-direction, but it still seems to happen.

You could do pos/angle adjustment in postStep code.
Dream of Algodoo as game development engine...

What command should I punch in to fix the x-displacement to zero? Is there a library I can refer to? Thank you!
