Collision layer problem.

Postby algodont » Wed Jul 31, 2013 11:44 am

Having trouble in understanding the collision layer on version 2.1.0. and unsure if its a bug
when selecting all the objects in the scene, and selecting the no self collision check box, as well as unselecting the collison layer check box, all the items in the scene dissapear.
had played around with algodoo a few years back in which this didn't occur.
when selecting the no self collision layer check box the objects remained on screen, when running the sim no objects had collided.
when 2 objects were selected to collide, only those 2 objects collided no matter what other objects were in it's path.

now on version 2.1.0., once all objects are selected there needs to at least be 1 collision layer checkbox selected e.g. "A" for the objects to be visible on the screen.
when running the sim with the no self collision box ticked no objects collide.

problem arises when selecting the objects that need to collide.
selected the objects, checked box "B" in the collision layer box and unselected the no self collision checkbox.
the selected objects collide, but still collide with the first non collision object in it's path.

is this a bug or has algadoo changed the way collisions work.
P.S. would be handy to add a checkbox when starting a new project that allows either all objects to collide or not to collide.
easier to just select the objects that need to collide so there is no need to constantly redo all the collision settings when a new object is introduced into the project.
every-time another object is introduced it collides with every other object.
can be a pain when a project is close to being finished, then needs another object.
when the new object needs to be set for non collision, every other object in the project now needs to be selected and set to no collision, every object in the project that needed collision now needs to be reset.
sometimes it's not easy re-selecting the collision objects, due to the objects being totally behind another.

cheers.
