Vertical synchronization in Phun?

Postby patem100 » Sun Oct 14, 2012 12:48 am

Hi. I'm phun user from Poland. Sorry for my bad english. I have a question. Did in phun exist Vsync? If yes, can I turn it off? Because I have only stable 60 FPS and when I add a lot of objects and water then FPS are decreasing.

Open the console (F11 on your keyboard), and type:
Code: Select all
System.vSync

That will tell you if vSync is enabled or disabled.

type:
Code: Select all
System.vSync = false
to turn it off!

When I press F11 in Algodoo then fullscreen mode turn on. So I press F10 and the console appeared. But when I typed "System.vSync" in the console then I saw this:
108686 ms: - WARNING - Failed to evaluate: System.vSync, Cannot find identifier "vSync" in "System"

Later I typed "System.vSync = false" but nothing happen. Still is 60 FPS.

Open the config file in notepad, you will see a entry for vSync (I suggest using control-f to locate it).

Oh, I forgot to mention, that as you add more objects, the simulation speed and FPS can drop, especially with water that takes a lot more CPU cycles.
I Am just assuming that you knew this and was attributing a worser effect by your graphics system.
