I need help with the camera!

I put my webcam into the USB slot, and the power light on the webcam would flicker 4 timer and then turn off! in other words, it is only on for 2 seconds! how do I keep it on?

my webcam works perfectly. i have a microsoft webcam. don't know how it's named.

The problem here is that the camera fails completely. Algodoo has support for many other webcams other than the Classmate PC one. It's like how a car might be able to run on electricity, gasoline, diesel and methanol, but not wood or coal.

As for the problem at hand, is it a second hand webcam? I've seen ones that look beautiful on the outside, but if you chack the cable, it might have small fractures in it, possibly even in the USB connector.

have you installed the drivers? if so, are they compatible with your OS?

in internet folder there should be a program called elkia or something like that
use that and have a fiddle with it. its what i used to see if my webcam worked with ubuntu

go throught the wizard ( you dont have to create any accounts)
there might be something in the menu that will show a preview window of your webcam or a button on the side of the screen
don know exectly as i had to format losing my wubi ubuntu but i messed around with the program.
