Resizing display bug

This has happened since I first got Phun in 4.22.
After I resize the window, only the upper left corner is displayed and the rest of the window goes black. The black section covers the bottom fourth or so and the right half of the window, and I think the remaining normally displayed section is the same size as Algodoo's default window size. All of the GUI stuff is placed and scaled like it should be if the problem were not happening, and the screen does not move to a new center or anything. When I close Algodoo and re-open it, the problem disappears unless I resize the window again.

Fullscreen mode works normally.

We are not able to reproduce the problem here. What system configuration do you have, that is:
Windows/Mac/Linux and which version?
Graphics card and driver version?
Screen resolution?

Does anyone else have the same problem?

This is not a great fix, but it might work:

- after you have resized the window, push the [~´] button to open the Algodoo console
- type in: "system.recreatewindow" (without the "") and press return
- close the console by pressing [~´] again

On a US keyboard, and most other keyboards the [~´] key refers to the key immediately to the left of [1].

I have also tried to reproduce it, and i could not. Perhaps there is something wrong with the installation or your graphical drivers?

I feel like a real idiot for this, but I've forgotten what my screen resolution is and can't seem to find it anywhere. The Device Manager calls it a "Generic PnP Monitor" but that's all I can find. Probably 1024X786

Ok, the problem may be related to your graphics card drivers, but I can't say for sure yet. I suppose you have a laptop. What is the maker and model name?

Testing...
system.recreatewindow executes fine, but fixes nothing. In fact, it causes the problem if I don't resize the window and just use that command.

And yeah, it's a laptop. "Toshiba Satelite L305-S5875 SYSTEM UNIT" is the exact text from the sticker on the bottom. Model number PSLB0U-067033.

I had this probleam, kind of. Same thing happened but it fixed it self after a matter of seconds. Try running algodoo with compatibility mode with it running at a lower resolution.

I often meet the same problem with Frank.
I think this problem is something to do with the graphic card.

Yes, I'm quite sure it is the graphics card causing this. Laptop graphics cards are certainly becoming quite good, but there are still glitches in their OpenGL support. It is even more important with these cards, to make sure you have the latest graphics drivers. Typically these are found at the website of the laptop maker, but in some cases one can get them directly from the maker of the graphics card.

Today, I updated the graphic driver, and this bug seems not to happen any more with my PC!
Intel(R) G965 Express Chipset Family v7.15.10.1576, now.

(I could not get any update for it, when I tried it before)

The default windows 6.x (i.e. vista/windows7) graphics card drivers sucks. Update!
