New way to let objects vanish?

Postby Papriko » Thu Dec 24, 2009 9:38 pm

Hi folks! I was a bit fiddling with some random values and looked what comes out. There I noticed something... You probably all know AirFrictionMult = NaN to let objects vanish. Did you know that AirFrictionMult = +inf and AirFrictionMult = -inf have almost the same effect? It has 2 sides:
The advantage is that objects on the same collision layer will not vanish as AirFrictionMult = NaN did. At least not always.
A little disadvantage is that it needs some kind of "kick" to make it work. Objects with AirFrictionMult = +inf are almost not affected by the global gravity.
I am currently only using Phun 5.28 and not Algodoo. I would annoy the people on the Phun Forum and not here, but the Forum refused new registrations when I looked the last time.

This is all well and good but you have done two things
1)Restated a fact we already knew ( AirFrictionMult = -inf was the original alternative to 0 density)
2)Invented something that already exists.

I don't say that I invented it. Also not that discovered it. Just noticed. In addition do I never see anything/anybody using it, so I wasn't sure how public it is.

Sorry that I try to find interesting things.
