Edit: (by tatt61880 on 2011.03.04 18:37)
This issue seems to be solved by updating driver! Thanks Chronos and electronicboy for advice.

Hi, weird issue here. Also, sorry for not specifically posting this in the "Phun Edition" subforum but it looks like there's not much posting going on there...
I've used Phun before, on this computer. (I think it might have been a long time ago, and a different edition, before I got my new graphics card.)
I downloaded the latest version of Phun from the Algodoo website.
It starts, shows the Welcome screen and what not and if I'm fast I can draw a circle or whatever but then it just closes, no error.
I read that deleting the "Welcome.phz" file in the game directory can help, and so can deleting the Mydocs/algodoo/onexit thingy (sorry, can't remember the actual name). Tried both, and it did nothing.
The logfile:
21:22:19: Loading language English...
21:22:19: No tablet found (or Wintab32.dll missing)
21:22:19: Parsing C:/Program Files/Phun/autoexec.cfg...
21:22:19: Parsing C:/Program Files/Phun/config.cfg...
21:22:19: Creating window...
21:22:20: 68 resources loaded
21:22:20: Window created.
21:22:20: Initializing thread-pool...
21:22:20: Prefetching resources...
21:22:21: Creaing GUI...
21:22:21: Loading C:/Program Files/Phun/scenes/Welcome.phn...
21:22:23: Loaded scene C:/Program Files/Phun/scenes/Welcome.phn
21:22:23: Running program...
21:22:23: -- Warning: Water transparency not supported by your computer. Try switching on shaders (anti-aliasing in the options->rendering menu), or upgrade your graphics drivers.
The only problems seem to be that I don't have a tablet (which you obviously don't need for this program) and the water thing. What does that mean? I have a new (enough) card, the Radeon HD 4650 that has (I believe) 3.0 shaders. Can play Oblvion, Crysis, whatever. Modern, shader-using games.
The anti-aliasing thing... I assume that means on my Catalyst panel? I'll try that. I've had it set to "use application settings" until now. I'll post back if it fixes it.
Thanks.
EDIT: I tried again and the logfile is the exact same, but it didn't put the water related thing. Weird. Still didn't work, though. Aaaand I just tried it again, same thing, no water note. I didn't even turn on anti-aliasing or anything. Literally did nothing different. This time it worked for like 9 seconds without shutting down.
This issue seems to be solved by updating driver! Thanks Chronos and electronicboy for advice.

Your drivers are up-to-date, right?

i agree with chronos.
Check to see if you drivers are up to date.
That is a general cause for these types of problems.

It (so far) worked! I'll tell you why they WEREN'T updated. I had them rolled back because I thought (still not sure) that Oblivion agreed better with some older drivers.
Thanks.
Thanks.
