Missing lots of tools on Algodoo v1.7.1

Hi, I am new to this. I found it on the internet while searching "physics" and "video games" in an attempt to find an entertaining way to learn physics. Glad I found this game as it looks very awesome. Right away I purchased, downloaded, and unlocked it. Now that I am using it for the first 5 minutes, I realize that there are tools presented in the beginners guide that I can't find on the toolbar. I can not find the scale tool, the gear, the geometry, the laser, and the sketch tool. Are these icons supposed to not appear in the tool box? Where can I find them? And if they are not appearing in the toolbox, does it mean that there is a glitch in my downloaded Algodoo program? Thank you for any help. I really want to start using this game since it seems to be really great.
