Self-acceleration - too good to be true

If you have problems installing or running Algodoo, have found a bug or need in-game help - this is it!

Self-acceleration - too good to be true

Postby hans49 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 9:15 pm

With gravity off, if an object is fixed to a hinged disk etc., and a second object is placed next to the first object and hinged to the disk, and if one of the two objects has an attraction setting, the hinged object will chase the fixed object and will get the disk to spin and accelerate until the torque is cancelled out by the friction :o .
Sorry, I can't upload the respective demo file - "The extension phz is not allowed" :wtf: .

I am currently only using Phun 5.28 and not Algodoo. I would annoy the people on the Phun Forum and not here, but the Forum refused new registrations when I looked the last time.

Basically yes, but if you place the two objects not in opposition but next to each other somewhere on the periphery of the disk, the torque will be stronger.
