Looks like forum finally dies.
No officials, ~10 users, no interesting topics, no new ideas, very few pros.
Goodbye old glory days.

Eh, it'll come back. The old forum had this happen a few times, too, and it fixed itself after a while. Just give it time.

Or, you know, Emil and Ken could always do some advertising. ;)

Hey! We are sorry for not hanging out. :(

But donĀ“t give up. There are things happening with Algodoo. So we are really busy making it better and spreading the word about it.

We promise there will be both cool updates and some good news pretty soon. So keep up hanging around and add posts in the forum. We really need you to discuss and share your thoughts and ideas with us!

I'd like more users. Newbs as pros. It would be a more "equal" forum if you get what I mean. Many people of each grade with shared problems can get the same solution and then climb. Now it's like When you ask for help you get a link to something that doesn't give you a solution(Really hate that).

Make some more advertising on the Algobox already. This is kinda my first forum due to I wanted to learn how to script properly. Make it sound easy because that's what it is :P

I agree. I started, what, 3 months ago, and it was a huge fourm. I miss those days :(

 I know! We grab friends and tie them to a chair and force them to create an account. :D

Nice bump :problem:

1) Advertise where?
2) Advertise to whom?
3) Who shall do said advertising?
3.5) I'm pretty handy in photoshop, so if you need banners, signatures, avatars, sandwiches with high-pass filters, ect., just ask ;)
4) We need to be more newb-friendly if we want anyone new to ever join the forums (READ: include basic forum rules [No bumping, 1st post contests, ect] when people come to join up, and being nice to new members)

Yeh I got one. Stop bumping topics, and stop suggesting advertisements?

Guys, im now advertising at a forum with ~2000 users, but no one is interested.

But I'm back. And the algodoo scenes a day is around 20, so totally death? No.

Somebody who just advertised Algodoo in a forum with 2000 users. Duh...

2000 users isn't note worthy. 10000 interested ones though, that's a different case.

If the Algodoo forum were to get 10,000 new users, I would completely spaz. I would feel that we would undergo a total spam attack.

10000 more users would be scary there would be so many more names to remember.

More activity = more customers = more money = more moderation.

Yes .. but the ratio of spammers to modders would still be through the roof.

Just like it is now? It's not like every minute there's a spam attack, even with a bigger community.

I would say that 10,000 active users would be a spam attack, even if every single post was on-topic and constructive.

You obviously don't know what spam really is. If you think 10000 (fuck commas) active users is spam, then you wouldn't last a second on the Minecraft forums or Reddit.

Wow, I've actually heard of Minecraft and Reddit... at least, I think I've heard of Reddit...

Personally, I kind of like a smallish forum like this one. I *think* I sort of prefer <50-ish active members. This way, I get to kind of get to know the active members and can be active in topics without them being buried under other topics.

I actually have some evidence of being annoyed at a hyper-active forum. The Help and Bug Reports forum when the 1.9.4 Beta first came out. Fortunately, I do not usually become active in any single topic in that forum. That forum consists of lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of really short topics.

Also, is seems to me (with the little experience I have) that as the number of users increases, the complexity of posts decreases. A forum in my comfort zone would look a lot like this one. A forum with 10,000 users would probably consist 99% of posts like:
dass a vrry gud seen
Or something.

Besides, it's my opinion, take it or leave it, but don't argue it.

Yes, that is a good point. Still though, having a bigger community is good. We just have to take it slow, like it was in the old Phun forums(if I remember it correctly).

If we were to get 10,000 members, I might find myself being pushed out for precisely the reasons stated above. What I would do then, I do not know, but I would really be surprised if we ever did.

And that, at least for me, would be bad.

I would likely check back from time to time to see if the forum was habitable once again, and if so, I would probably pull a Sonic and return.

And, assuming the mob failed to return, all would return to normal.
