Its just because of the mass of the larger block. Weird things happen with objects that massive, the gravity becomes so much that it tries to break a plane.

Yah, large masses with pens on it screws with the game, happeneed with my test -- 1 w/o pens, 1 with pens, and yours, the ones with pens fell through the floor, the one w/o pens (the control) didn't..
