Algodoo

It doesn't "cut" the material. It "chops" it into splinters and wood chips!

Well, I couldnt find a way to actually cut it lol...

Yeah, it's very difficult to do a realistic smooth cut with Algodoo.

If only things could be glued and unglued by scripting... That would make this easy. Just make the saw blade unglue the material.

kilinich did a wood cutter scene some time ago CUTTER , but it takes out large chunks of wood too. I don't know if it's even possible in Algodoo to make cuts like a real saw blade. If it is possible, I suspect that the lag would be unacceptable. There are some things that Algodoo just simply cannot do.

Maybe I could mess with polygon surfaces, but again that would lag constantly. Someone mentioned about my grinding wheel scene to make the block concave where it gets cut, but that wouldnt be possible unless someone could make a polygon resurfacer script, which would consist of a series of small circles on the wheel, and when each one collides with the block to be cut, it sets the surface of the polygon to its center. But surfaces cannot be edited using script, so that will not be happening
