Just for the fun of it, I converted s_noonan's
XY Stage scene from controlling its position with the arrow keys to controlling its position with your mouse clicks.
But there's an expected problem. When a desired "go to" point is clicked, the yellow position indicator will begin moving in a straight line approximately toward the desired point, but then will sometimes abruptly change coarse and finish by going exactly to the desired destination. (Play with it for a while and you will understand what I'm talking about).
What's happening is this:
When the yellow position indicator starts out on its journey toward the desired destination, both x and y axes move at exactly the same rate. Therefore, either the x or y axis will sometimes reach its destination coordinate BEFORE the other axis reaches its destination coordinate. Because of that, the axis that reached its destination first must stop moving, and then the other axis will continue moving until it reaches its final coordinate. This problem causes TWO short straight line segments along its travel rather than ONE continuous long straight line.
Your challenge: Now that you know why this happens, your challenge is to add the required code that will prevent two line segments from being drawn. Each move to a new desired location should always be drawn with just ONE straight line. Make your scene a response to this scene. The winner will not win any prize except for the pride in being able to solve this software engineering problem.
This challenge is for anyone with Thyme script programming experience.
Sorry for my rambling, but that's just me!
