Things can happen in Algodoo that cannot happen in real life. In this particular case, the balls rotate around the poles while the springs become disconnected and then reattached. I hope that explains it. :*)

This is both an illusion and a glitch. The illusion is that the balls are rotating around the pole and the glitch is that when the balls' radius decreases then the spring stays in that place instead of staying on the place relative to the balls' size. 8|
