Inspired by the game Kerbal Space Program, I had a crazy idea to make a huge earth with gravity in algodoo and a space ship that you could fly into an orbit.
The earth's diameter is 2 kilometers or 1.2 miles. Because of that, it couldn't even fit into the screen when zoomed all the way out.
I also made the moon, which orbits the earth at around 10 kilometers (6 mi) away.
For realism's sake, I made the spaceship only 26 cm long and reduced the time scale to 0.01x.
Getting into an orbit with the spaceship is difficult enough, but trying to fly to the moon is almost impossible. The speed required for an orbit is about 100m/s, the space ship has a speedometer.
ALRIGHT!
Zoom in to the red arrow where the space ship is located.
Arrow keys to control the space ship.
Try to follow the white guidance line.
Set the simulation frequency to 1200 Hz from the options for maximum accuracy! (if your computer can handle it)
Delete the tracers if you have lag issues
